Hello:

I have been working on a series of images and am excited to work with them in crazy talk 5. I am having trouble getting the eyes to work right on this image.

I have done a ton of experimenting.

The blink is highly distorted (which may just be a limitation of the size and shape of the eye). I could live with that but the "pupil" also distorts alot as the eyes emote.

Basically, in detailed face mode I have placed the yellow points along the "eye lash" with the whites running from either end of the eye lash an around the bottom. The eye brow point follow the eyebrows almost exactly.

Can anyone give me some help on how to make this look as "natural" (for a cartoon) as possible? It would be a great help.

Thanks.

Kyle, maybe this will help.

Try adding an eye to the character as shown in the image below. I used the cartoon style eye and edited it to be "close" to the character face you have here..looked OK with a little 10 minute fiddling.

Two attachments are here: One is the image of the settings panel for advanced facial and the other is an animation GIF of the character...no audio, but that can be anything, right? The GIF has a minimum of frames to keep the size down.

Maybe the Settings will help.

Cricky:

Thanks, adding the eye was just the ticket for the eye movement.

Any thoughts on how I might get the eye to fully close during blinks and other times without it looking like a warped push broom?

Thanks again.

With the shape of the Eye for this particular one, it can be difficult, but if you try some of the panels shown in this image and re-adjust the points around the eyes (Use the Test Panel Shown before adjusting), you will likely get it really close. I'm not sure what degree of change you are seeking, so the color coded highlights in this one should help. The main thing is to test each one after a setting change, and then save the model after you get it where you want it.

The intensity of the settings is able to make some infinite degrees of adjustments...just depends of what you are after.
