Hey,
I try to convert an non human character from Blender to iClone. I can export the character and animate him in iClone but I can't use the hand presets. The other presets work fine, just the hands don't move.(Tab->Animation->Hands). Doesn't know, if it is a iClone or 3DXchange problem^^
Thanks Chilred:D

"Did you map the hand bones correctly?"
I think so, because I can manual use the fingers. In 3DXChange the finger calibration preview works fine. Please take a look at the attachment. There are two pictures. Just the presets don't work. Maybe they work just for G5 Characters?

Hello , No , it's work for all non-standard character and G5 character . I have made two test and no problem . With 2 convert character : - one with 5 fingers - one with 2 fingers only bad mapping I think ;) .

Hey, well, it was just one of many rigs I tried. In iClone none of the 3DX5 Character Design Pack accept the hand gestures. Also my old 3D Max Characters don't accept the gestures. Here are another picture of the rig in blender and 3DXChange. Don't work either :( Thank you

Hi!(^^)/ I think that just a setup of the bone of a finger is enough. I made the monster of 3 fingers from Genesis. A motion of the hand of the avatar converted by setup of the photograph is satisfactory at iClone5.

I think that just a setup of the bone of a finger is enough. I tried this, too. No luck Please consider what Sen said. Viewing what he circled clearly shows the Hand bone is NOT properly assigned!
It appears you have chosen the... Wrist bone. Your current iClone mapping links the Fingers to the Wrist!
...what this means is:
* The Fingers derives its transform from the... Hand * The Fingers 'Parent' Must be the Hand Bone! * Mapping the 'Wrist Bone' Will transform the hand, but not the fingers!
...use Sen's (Circled) suggestion! Well, how I told this change nothing :(

Hey, now it works.
First, it works with both ways. It doesn't matter, if the hand is full mapped.
The solution is: You must right-click in the iClone hand menu... This works with the 3DX5 Character Design Pack, too. The standart characters can use hand gestures just with drag and drop. The non-standart characters must use right-click and apply. I' mean wth? Why is this so complicated? And I didn't find any help in the manual :(
Anyway thank you for your support :)
