Can someone please remind me how to save a default pose again. I have a rider on a hover board every movement is going to start and end with him in his riding pose.. so i need to set it so that pose is the default pose...
also i remember having a slight issue with setting a default pose last time.. i have his feet linked to some props and the props are linked to his board.. I do that so when i move his board his feet will move with it. how do i make the props have a default pose also???.. so that when i save the props, reload, and re link the feet to them everything is in its proper place ( props, and feet)
hope i am making sense here.
pardon my brevity.

If you are using 5.5, then you can bake the constraints of accessories to the avatar.
It might work better to attach the board to one of your actor's feet, so it is an accessory that you can bake it with your actor in Motion Plus format. The other foot could, presumably, still be connected to a reach target prop attached to the board.
Then you would animate the actor's leg that the board is attached to, and the other leg would follow along because of the reach target.

The only issue with that is: as an accessory there is no "edit in 3dxchange" feature... so I added one bone and exported it to fbx,.. turning it into an actor.. that way I can send it to 3dxchange and in turn send it to unity,.. that option also allows me to send geometry and animation sperate to unity. .so that if i have multiple boards.. just have to give it the same bone name and just add the motion that i made in iclone to it. the goal is to animate one time and apply it to diffrent boards/ characters. if there is a better way do tell =)
also i am having another issue but i will make another post. please check it. my board is not reacting to the gizmo. if i rotate it. the bounding box around the board moves but the board itself does not. please check my other post i am going to post it right now along with a photo. thanks

pardon my brevity. You already have several suggestions in your previous Threads, including mine & that is to Attach the Dummy Props to the Hoverboard & Attach that to the Character when it will become an Accessory. Open Custom Character Content Manager & Click on the Plus + sign at the bottom. Load your Character in the Start & Finish Pose each time. Detach the Hoverboard from the Character (When it becomes a Prop) for the intervening Motion shots. If you Collect Clip for each of the Motions & Add those to your Custom Motions, all you need to do is Select those Motions each time you want your Character to Perform one of them in Your Project., Anyone-else? ADDED - Typing while Rampa & you were Posting. My Post(s) assume(d) that this is a Complete iClone Project. As previously Posted, I've done this with a Character using Skis & Ski Poles attached to the Character & Applying Saved Custom Perform Motions, as above.

Any accesory, that is something attached to your avatar, will transfer to 3DX as part of your avatar. It must be attached rather than linked to be an accessory.
I had actually suggested making the board an avatar when you first brought this topic a while back, for exactly the reason that you have. But with the new "bake everything" Motion Plus format, I'm leaning towards the idea of the board as a, accessory. Motion Plus is supposed to support accessory animation as well.
Either approach should be workable with 5.5 versions of the software.
This looks like a really cool project, and I'm hoping that you'll find the solution that meets all your criteria to get it up and going in Unity.:)

ok but what if i have a different hover board. I mean i imagine if just the color is different then I could just switch out the textures.. but what if the shape of the board is different. longer bigger.. has fins.. or something of the sort?
My thinking is,.. make the board an avatar as apposed to a prop so it can have a bone that i would name h bone and it would be zeroed out at the world origin. that way any other board i make no matter the shape would still follow the same animation because the fbx is transferring the bones information.. so as long as i keep the bone name the same for each board the motions i save should apply right? am i correct in this ?? i am still working out kinks so i have not gotten to that step yet,.. but im literally a couple of hours away i would say. but yea that's my thinking.. your thoughts? will the method you said still work you think?

... continued from above post
yea rampa I did get the idea from you actually lol.
so with the new motion plus will i be able to just animate one board and have the other boards i make follow that motion??? this is for a game.. so i have to make multiple boards. and i see the only way that being possible is via fbx. even on the export .. i can export the boards and the characters separate.. as geometries... and as animations .. so that.. i can have lets say .. 5 different board geometries,.. .but transfer the 12 trick animations i did from the first board to the other 4!

I have not tried doing that with motion plus.
Are there any animations where the board is separate from the rider? Like just sitting there drifting around by itself? I still like the idea of having the board be an avatar. That was the only way to get its animations to Unity, that I could think of. I don't know if it would have its own animations as an accessory, or just be part of the avatar at that point with Motion Plus. Might be worth checking out, as it would simplify animating in iClone.
Have you tried sending the board and avatar to Unity yet? Did the animations work well together? Maybe both board and character need to be linked to a dummy prop which controls over all movement while keeping the two together. Than the board could move and control the characters feet by the reach targets. You would need to bake the characters animations to get the reach target movements, and also bake the board avatar's animations, because its larger movements would be controlled by the dummy object. I'm assuming that board animation part can be baked as well to get both the dummy's motion and it's own motion into one animation file.
I don't have Pipeline, or any reason to export out of iClone, but I'll see if I can set up a similar scenario to play with. I'm no pro at this, so it's a bit on my end.

Scratch the connecting both avatars to a dummy prop. Only "human" avatars can use Motion Plus format. Of course, if your board had enough bones to be mapped to the standard iclone skeleton, you could still do that.
Not sure if you want a whole human skeleton in your boards though. Seems kind of messy for game use.

lol yea unless the board was transforming or something like that ........ which might not be a bad idea =). but yea right now the path of least resistance for me is keeping both the character and the board avatars.
i gave an earlier version of it to my programmer. and he used a jump animation i did with the board and the avatar.. i did not see any issues,. .. and he did not mention anything so .. so far so good. ima ride that bitch till the wheels fall off !!
