Hi Everyone, I've just downloaded IClone5 Pro and the readme file indicated I had to get an application called WMencoder 9. I went online and downloaded the software from Microsoft and it shows on my control panel "Progams" but there is no short cut or any icon for me to access it. Does anyone know what this app does and how it is accessed. any feedback would be much appreciated. Neil

According to the iClone readme WMencoder 9 is required in order to render/output video files in WMV (Windows Media 9) format. According to Microsoft it is not supported when using Windows 7: System requirements Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000, Windows XP System requirements vary based upon encoding task. For more information about Windows Media Encoder 9 Series, see the Readme file for Windows Media Encoder 9 Series. Not supported under Windows 7

I saw that reference too, and it is incorrect. As far as I know WMEncoder was never needed for wmv. Windows 7 has Windows Media Center, which supports wmv natively. Here is an overview of supported file types: http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows7/File-types-supported-by-Windows-Media-Center

Thanks for your help, your feed back is much appreciated, I realise now why it doesn't show up.

It's an old reference intended for Windows XP users. Not required for Windows 7 or 8.
