Reallusion salutes all the winners in this year’s iClone Dance Animation Competition. In this short 2 month period, we've recieved over 100 submissions from all over the world.

Top 1 - Best Video

Video Title: Grandparty

Director: Igor Tkachenko

Judges' Comment: This animated dance video delivers stunning performances in every aspect. The simple story line and camera movement successfully attract audience's interest and attention from the very beginning, with toon actor styles, well-performed dance moves and vivid facial expressions. The dance move arrangements also well-present its music and beats. Our judges have no doubt that this dance animation video is the best one in the competition!

Top 2 - Best Video

Video Title: Change the way you kissed me

Director: René Jacob

Judge's Comment: This submission brings an attractive atmosphere. The creative story successfully brings out the characters' dance performance. The dance scene transitions between reality and imagination are impressive as they perfectly matched the music’s flow. The character dance moves are also well-arranged.

Top 3 - Best Video

Prize: Xbox 360 250 GB Kinect Holiday Bundle US$399.99

 

Video Title: Learning to fly

Director: Tom Jantol

Judge's Comment: “Learning to fly” is a special and stylish dance video entry. Unlike other entries that used pop music, Tom makes its vampire characters dance to musical lyrics. The unique color tone and castle scenes are also key elements to making this video outstanding. We especially love the dancing on the castle roof top which is visually stunning!

Best Dancer

Prize: Video Pro X4 US$399

Video Title: The Worst Dancer In New York City

Director: Teviniii

Judges' Comment: The Best Dancer Prize goes to Teviniii and “The Worst Dancer In New York City”. In this video, Teviniii creates many unique dance characters, ranging from artistic female dancers to funny, weird ballet dancers, which makes this dance animation even more interesting.

Best Choreography

Video Title: Dance with the Avatars

Director: Tobias Kolodziey

Judges' Comment: The Best Choreography goes to Tobias and Dance with the Avatars. The characters' dance moves perfectly hit every beat of the music. The dance move arrangements also match the feeling of the music

Best Animation

Prize: Sparkle GTX650 1GB GDDR5 OC US$119 (Entry x 3)

Video Title: iClone Dance Animation

Director: NORTE43

Judges' Comment: In this video, Norte43 has made a perfect blend among different dance moves. The variety in camera angles and movements also make the dance performances even more appealing!

Video Title: Party People - The Snagging List edit

Director: Darren Thompson

Judges' Comment: Darren is good at transitioning among scenes. His combinations of dance moves and scene arrangements complete this professionally made dance music video!

Video Title: The Audition

Director: Mark Pleasant

Judges' Comment: “The Audition” is no doubt the best entry when it comes to animation skills. Complete with professional storytelling ability, lighting skills, and natural actor animation. Congratulations for an exceptional job!

Best Visual FX

Prize: Renderosity Gift Certificate valued US$100

Video Title: "Rock & Roll Relics" part 1

Director: Mark Pleasant

Judges' Comment: This video uses good lighting and shadows to present its dance performance. The movie projector effect also delivers appealing visual effects.

Best Camera

Prize: Amazon.com Gift Card valued US$100

Video Title: War of the dance

Director: Jonathan Clemens

Judges' Comment: In the very beginning of this video, Jonathan uses shaky camera movements which successfully create suspicion in the video, making audiences expect the dance battle.

Best Compositing

Prize: Amazon.com Gift Card valued US$100

Video Title: Janet Jackson: Escapade Revisited

Director: Jason Brown

Judges' Comment: Jason combines live human dancers and 3D avatars to remake one of Janet Jackson's greatest hits. The compositing skill and the dancers' performance all make this music video very enjoyable.

Best Pipeline

Prize: Amazon.com Gift Card valued US$100

Video Title: Funky toys

Director: David THOMAS

Judges' Comment: David brings so many interesting characters into this iClone animation, including spider man, super man, Darth Vader and more. These characters also show us how they can be applied with iClone motions and dance styles!

Yeah. Congrats to the winners. I liked them too. All of them. I also liked the ones who didn't win. It's my new fun TV to watch these iClone/Reallusion creations. I especially liked the theme of this competition. :)
