I just bought widget case pro and am really happy in general with it, but I'm having a problem. I have powerpoint and have a really nice presentation I want to add to one of the pages, but I can't because it isn't recognizing the "new" Microsoft office extensions (pptx). What can I do? This is a new program isn't it (the widget cast one). Shouldn't it be able to recognize the latest Microsoft programs?

Hi.. WidgetCast isn't a brand new program. The last version 2.5 was released in July 2010. Because of this it unfortunately only supports PowerPoint editions up to the 2007 version.

Ah, well, then my wish list would include that it get upgraded to meet the current programming for ppt. I found a program online to convert my pptx to ppt, but that isn't working either, but I gave up when it didn't work. I'll see if I can figure out why tomorrow.

I just downloaded the Pro Trial, and I thought I would try some ppt conversions because of the low buy-in. But WidgetCast is not converting my fonts correctly. When I have used specialty fonts, the output text verges on total gibberish. In my ppt where I used AGaramond, it converted more readably, but deleted all the spaces. :ermm: Is there something special I am supposed to do in these cases? (Note: I seldom use the common fonts because I think they are boring, you see them so often in so many places . . .) Thx

Then, Peter either Widgetcast must provide an update patch to support other versions of Office or .ppt generating apps like Libre/Open Office, or must mention this flaw clearly, or must stop selling this product, because i was not aware of this limitation when i purchased the product. :)
And this patch has not got updates after 2010, which does not foster good signs for me. :crying:

This decision has meant that WidgetCast will no longer be sold and has been removed from our online store. We can only apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thats bad news. :(
Widget cast may have gotten a few supporters to upgrade their product. I think one reason that may have influenced the people is the reducing value of flash and rise of HTML5, Is it peter?
