Could RL pls show me how to use a character I created in Daz Studio to export to use as a character in Mocap Device Plug-In so that I could record it real-time? Because the demo on this web site only says that "choose a character" and then capture the human motions, but my purpose is to animate my own characters made in Daz, not just using any other iclone character. Pls help.

Have you already converted the Daz character to a non-standard character using 3DXchange5?

If so, then you only need to load this saved character into your scene in iClone5, and then start the Mocap Device Plugin in the normal way as you would a standard character.

Please Note: As converted Daz characters such as Genesis are high in polys, you may find that the character reacts more sluggishly than with normal iClone characters.

Also remember that you can create the motion using a standard iClone character and then apply it to your Daz non-standard character later. Saved mocap is not restricted to the character it was recorded on.

Thanks for the reply. I actually havn't purchased the product yet. I read a lot of negative feedback about it. However, I want to ask more and research more before I act upon it. Since my ultimate goal is to animate my Daz characters such as those made with Victoria, Michael, Hiro, Aiko 3 or 4 or other Daz studio characters, I just want to make sure that we can use them instead of just the iclone standard characters. I think you have answered my enquiry, yes I agree that due to the high polygon your second suggestion sounds better. I shall keep in mind that I can use the iclone standard characters first, and convert them into Daz non-standard character. But having said that, may I ask will there be any distortions or changing into wierd shapes that becomes unusable due to the difference in proportion and sizes etc of the difference in their builds?

And one more question, if we use the Mirror function, does it mirror the character also, or only the action? Because if it mirror the character altogether, that means once we put the body and the clothings on, at the end result the hair, face, clothings would be mirrored too and not just the motion itself? That would change the co-herence of the look of the character.

iClone motions can applied to any avatar that is characterized as standard or non-standard character. Converted Daz characters become non-standard characters.

So you can apply any iClone motion file to your Daz character. There wil be no disortion to the character when using iClone motion files.

Likewise using mirror fuctionality will not alter the actual character itself. :)
