The Dresses are fixed and replaced now.  If you downloaded the freebie, you should be able to download again for free.  However, the dress pack for new purchasers is no longer free. :)

Pack available HERE

Mike, this is very interesting and with Alley I'm sure you will produce a very high quality product.

I'm with Alley, I don't care much about the technical side of things, only does it work in iclone and I can use it.

Well done :)

I my country, Guatemala, we use to say: "Don't look at a gift horse's teeth"...:)

It is of common knowledge the Cat Walk exhibits serious challenges for cloth rigging.

Of course the dress can be improved and I will take a look at it, I must admit I did not run ALL the tests a product to be released for sale passes through! After all it was a simple gift!

The little problem in your walk can be easily corrected by a little correction to the Cat motion, which crosses the legs a little bit too much. At frame 0 use the Motion editor to slightly (very slightly) open the thighs a little bit.

Most punch through problems can be corrected by tweaking the motion and problem frames with ANY character.

Another easy way is you can use 3DX ( a good usage for it !) to export the dress mesh. Using a Z sculpting program simply pull a little bit the skirt at the problem point. It will be fixed. Import, save and test! You will fix it!

Hello dear Mike Apparition,
I downloaded your freebie Ar cloth and when I wanted to use it with one of my favourite feminine motions – Persona Behaviour Casual Walk – this is what happened (the right leg poking through the skirt). It would be great if you could fix that. Thanks !

Dumspiro asks if the cloth is physics cloth!
No. it is not! Developers are aware of the limitations in the physics engine and hope RL will eventually focus in solving the difficulties to create dynamic cloth, which covers the limbs and torso.
You are right static wrinkles are not as realistic as pure dynamic wrinkles. But cloth appearance is much better than plain "plastic tube" painted software. So there is one point in favor! Nevertheless, the structure of the triangular mesh permits the rigging or "skin" controls the mesh in ways which allow the wrinkles to change in shape according to motion, similar to the "muscle" effect available for rigid skin systems.
What this means is: The 3D wrinkled cloth moves MORE NATURALLY than plain, flat, quad based mesh, because the "skin" control is not uniform creating a more natural reaction to motion.
You can carefully see this in the video above. I applied on purpose a certain degree of reflection to the "fabric" so viewers can see how the wrinkles change (not exaggeratedly but DO change) according to motion!

Hello Mike, nice development ! One question though .. it wasn’t so clear just watching the movie .. is this cloth dynamic or static? Because plastic painted tubes aren’t realistic indeed but static wrinkles wouldn’t be either .. realistic wrinkles are supposed to “move”, change shape along the motion, appear and disappear.. something like the effect seen when watching virtual garments with Clo3d Show Player ! That would be a dream !

I understood you question Sjones!

As soon as RL fixes their plugin to conform to older G3 export features I will have cloth which will be adjustable internally!
Great question!

Eagerly awaiting the new developments.

To Sjones:
You should export it with 3DX, play with it with Zlike programs and bring it back.... If you want to....

Thanks for the info, however, I think that I'll be way over my head.

I am sorry the license is that expensive, because then I will be working alone!
Certainly I do have not only a commercial license but also an agreement with the marvelous people at Clo3D, where I have been doing developments for them and they have granted me full license to produce and sell my products!
I am NEVER involved in such problems as void licenses, or using things do not belong to me!
Thanks for pointing it out!

Have a nice day!
