Hi, everybody! I'm making a zombie. It's based on a slightly modified Chuck character I already did. Unfortunately, steelblade doesn't think he looks "dead" enough yet.

Now, I'm having some trouble editing the face texture quite right, and it struck me (just as I was supposed to be drifting off to sleep) that one of the reasons for this is that there are no template guidelines for me to use, the way there are with clothing textures. I think I've got a pretty good grasp on how I can make one, involving drawing a face with guidelines on it, then importing that the way I would a photo, then exporting that to my graphic software, but before I go to all this trouble...

Does anybody have a face template to share? If not, is there a reason for this that would make me think twice about doing it myself?

Secondly, any other tips on texturing face (such as how to do realistic blemishes/wrinkles, facial hair) would be much appreciated.

Finally, assuming I do make this template (tomorrow) would anybody like a copy of it?

And with that out of my system (for the time-being) I'm going back to bed (I hope).:hehe:

You can export the UV reference images (from the "skin" tab) into your graphics program. Overlay that over the diffuse image, and it will show guidelines for your face. If you want to see it one the model, load the uv image back into the overlay channel and reverse the colors. From there, you've got a pretty good reference.

Also, make sure your max texture size is set to the max, and use as large an image size as you can get away with for the face - little lines and wrinkles won't come across if the image quality gets degraded at all.
