Currently ReadMe file for content can be uploaded in .txt, .pdf, .doc and .html formats. Is it possible to add .jpg format to this list?
I quite understand that image uploaded this way will have no copy protection, but for some sort of images it's not important at all. For example this way can be uploaded additional opacity masks, demo templates etc.
So I think it can be very useful for developers and customers.

Technically it should ok. If you will upload multiple images, or need to upload formats other than JPG, we may need to provide .zip instead. The drawback is that users can't see the image online before download, and we need to set a size limit on it (e.g. less than 2MB) to prevent zipped video/audio files, which is a black hole to private issues. Do you think it's useful?

ZIP files much better that just JPG and I think it'll be very useful! :)
Sure, developers quite understand that if they will put something in such zip it will be not copy protected, but some sort of free addition to the product.
I see no problems that customers will not able to see what in zip -- it's always possible to mark "what inside" in product description.
There are a lot of possibilities to upload video/audio files and then give the link to them, so I think that 2Mb limit is very reasonable.
Such size of ZIP file is OK for including middle resolution images, text descriptions and any other free additions to the product itself.

Can say again that by my opinion such feature will be useful for both developers and customers. :)

I would agree with Vit that the ability to add additional jpg files such as optional opacity maps would be ideal and a zip format would be fine.  And understand these files are not protected so would only use for this purpose.
