Ellies', You have to apply/use a LOOPING Walk Motion where the character doesn't move but "walks-in-place"...then you move them forward using the right-click MOVE command. There is a LOOPING Walk inside iClone that I have, but it may be from version 1.0 for all I know...I've been using it for a while now.

There is a sample of what I came up with HERE as a Method I've used with some success. Perhaps your solution to walking up steps will be made easier when iClone4 is released...can't say for sure though.

Thanks Cricky,

I really appreciate the pointer and your help here.

This is what I did.

After a bit of messing about I used a single block as a helper and moved to the next step each forty frames and then went back to the twenty intervals to shift the vertical upwards while accepting the horizontal.

Using G3 avatars I had found that Violet's Walk forward worked well but Trey's was too widely spaced. So I applied her movement to both characters.

My laptop takes a heck of a long time to render (this scene requires water, glow and other stuff) but I'll show you how it looks tomorrow.

Here we go! [edit] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ctozgiwgwik

Sadly though I haven't found a way to save a movement to be easily applied as a general motion. Collect clip doesn't work for this one.

Thanks again Cricky.

btw - could you check your sig as it doesn't seem to work too well on my connection?

Kind regards,

Alex

Where there's a will, there's a way.

The resulting video looks better than the first and the motion collection won't work for this because it really isn't a motion you're collecting; but a combination of connections to props that assisted the motion. Really good considering what you have to work with.

As far as the connection goes in viewing the Video Wall, I can't help you there. The video wall is a feed and it does require viewers to have a fast connection.

Thanks again, Cricky. :D I must say I was so pleased with myself that I failed to spot Tony walking straight through the glass door at the end :pinch:

Kind regards,

Alex

I've looked a lot but can't find the file to download on Clones2Go.  Has there been a change or is it removed?  I'd really like to obtain it.  Thanks

Bob

Let's just hack right through this Gordian Knot with the sword of technology, shall we?

Join TheTrailersPark.com (membership is free) and go into the Downloads.

From there, go into the CMU file section.

From there, go into the iClone / VNS department.

EDIT: Let me not commit here to pointing you to specific file names to download. I may have made a mistake previously.

Go here:

CMU mocap search

and do a search for the action you're interested in (for example, stair).

Then navigate to that section of the VNS files at TheTrailersPark

PS Don't forget to donate!! :hehe:

For a top university the interface leaves a little to be desired but your offer is very tempting

Kind regards,
