Are newer .skp files not supported in 3Dxchange?! I bought Sketchup Pro, learned how to use it, made something I specifically need for my project and then screeched to a halt when 3Dxchange refused to open the file. It took an entire month for me to do this. Workaround maybe?

Load the model in SU and from the menu click on "Save as. Expand the file type window and select a SketchUp version before SU 17 - I can't remember which previous version is the last working one for 3DX, but I always use SketchUp 8. Give the file another name to keep it separate from the original one.

3DX should open the new file without problems.

Thank you. That "worked," but the result is a disaster.

Use Pcon.Planner...
Save your .skp in Sketchup and convert with few clicks to FBX/OBJ --> 3DXChange

How is pconplanner different from the .fbx/.obj files that Sketchup exports? Thanks!

HI DEAR,

WHEN YOUR WORK IS DONE IN SKETCHUP EXPORT OR SAVE THE FILE AS ( SKETCHUP 2016 FORMAT )
 - GO TO 3D EXCHANGE AND OPEN - DONE (:

In my case, I use SketchUp shop, save 3ds, operate 3dxchange7pro, and save prop. obj and fbx are difficult to adjust and are not recommended.
自分の場合、スケッチアップshopを使用し、3ds保存で、3dxchange7proで、いろいろ操作しprop保存で使用しています。objや、fbxは、調整に難しくお勧めできません。

Also, in the case of SketchUp pro, you can save it with skp.2015 or a down version around skp.2016.
あと、スケッチアップのproの場合、skp.2015か、skp.2016あたりのダウンバージョンで、保存するとできます。
