I freely admit there are times I’m as dim as a blown-out incandescent light bulb. Which is why I guess forums like this exist and are such a goldmine to folks like me.

Admission: I’m going to purchase Headshot, most likely next month. For the nonce, I’m exploring how I can and can’t use it. I figure the best way to find out is ask people who already use it.

Question 1: May I assume one can lift a face from a photo, and with Headshot (HS) tools transfer it to a CC3 character?

Question 2: If the answer to Q1 is, yes, can B/W photo faces be used and colorized with HS “skin” and/or other HS tools?

Question 3: It’s merely an experimental concept now, but using faces from historical photos from say, 1890s – 1930s a legal option?

Q1. Yes
Q2. No. Photo needs to be colour and for it to really work it needs to be of good quality.
Q3. If B&W see Q2. The rest depends on who owns the copyright to the likeness.

You should take a look at some of the tutorials and tips in this thread for more information.

You actually CAN use B/W photos -- I have a tutorial on the process.  Easy to colorize either before or after (I like afterwards).

Thank everyone for your replies. I'm looking forward to getting and using HS.
