Hi, I'm currently trying out Character creator 3, and the trial version doesn't seem to load up. The splash text appears for about 10 seconds and then closes. Help is appreciated.

If you have an Nvidia video card, check the driver version. The latest versions do not work with iClone and CC. You need game-ready driver 431.60 (or earlier) or Studio driver 431.86 (or earlier).

RL is discussion with Nvidia about this and a solution is imminent (we hope)...

RL, as this affects new users with trial versions who may or may not be visiting the forum, it is by now really urgent issue.

I would suggest communicating this clearly on the trial download page. Marketing may not like that but a warning is better than new users being disappointed and going elsewhere. A banner at the top of the forum page with a message about the driver version would be good too.

Of course, we don't mind answering this question over and over and over...:doze: :doze: :doze:

Well I bought the Developers suite, and now you say we cannot use it due to an incompatibility issue?
What is Reallusion doing about this then? I now have several Gigs of useless programs on my computer  because NVIDA and Reallusion could not communicate and get us a patch or something that will make them work again?

the choice is yours:
- either you install the 431.60 (or earlier) game-ready driver or Studio driver 431.86 (or earlier) and you can use your programs;
- Or wait for NVIDIA to ship a compatible driver (planned for late October) and you keep your gigabytes of unused programs until then.
Reallusion is not responsible for any changes made in the NVIDIA drivers.
On the other hand if you use the last version of DAZ3D this one is compatible only with the last version of the NVIDIA drivers.

I'm using the latest version of Daz Studio (4.12.0.86) and it appears to be working fine with the Nvidia 431.60 drivers. Mind you I only use it to export content for Character Creator 3 so there may be other issues, but for "Transformer" users it should be fine until the Nvidia update is available.

nope.

Thats a shame.

The 440.97 drivers are working fine in our testing. If you are still having launch issues after updating your graphics drivers then I would advise contacting Technical Support using the link below. You may have a separate issue unrelated to the graphics drivers. Do make sure to supply your dxdiag.txt so Support can check for any obvious problems.

Ue4 works, maya works, blender works, substance works, houdini works, nuke works.. agisoft, etc.

CC3 doesn't launch. Yall should probably investigate why.

Looking forward to trying it out one day for sure. But I'm not going to change drivers for the odd package out.

I ran into the same issue with a purchased version of CC.  It's been a while since I used it.  I can confirm that CC v3.2 works with Nvidia driver 441.66

Does anyone have an update on which driver versions will let me use CC3?
By ken_1171 - 5 Years Ago
I can confirm that CC3.21 works with the latest GeForce driver 441.87 x64. I was using the older version 431.60 for several months, and after a recent CC3 update, it was failing to launch even with the old driver version. I had it uninstalled, upgraded the GeForce driver to the latest, and then reinstalled CC3. Now CC3 "kind of" works. Sometimes it launches, sometimes it stays on the splash screen forever and fails to start. When this happens, I have noticed it is not always on the same time, based on the splash screen loading status messages. Sometimes it's when loading a plugin (not always the same one), and sometimes at the last part, when it claims to be "Initializing".

One thing I've noticed is that it always appear to launch when I call it from iClone. For example, when I click the "Edit in Character Creator" button. When I launch it on its own, it's a 50-50% chance it will either load or hang at the splash screen. Not sure why, and this was already happening with the old GeForce driver. Something has changed on the current 3.21 version that freezes CC3 at launch.

I can't believe after all this time this has not been fixed.  I have two computers, one for work and one for personal development.  My work computer will not run CC3 but my personal will.  I have to use old drivers on my personal computer to get CC3 to work.  Iclone works on both but not CC3.  I don't think it is an Nvidia issue.

If anyone running into problems with IC7/CC3 crashing on startup and you are running dual monitors, a workaround is to unplug the HDMI/DP cable from your secondary monitor. Programs should start correctly at which point you can plug the monitor back in and work as normal.

Hi, I'm currently trying out Character creator 3, and the trial version doesn't seem to load up. The splash text appears for about 10 seconds and then closes. Help is appreciated.

After installing Headshot Plugin 1.1 Character Creator 3.4 stops launching.
SOLUTION: Uninstall the Headshot 1.1 plugin and install the Headshot 1.0 plugin after Character Creator 3.4 starts up without any problem!
