Hi
I´m using CC4 and IClone 8. I can´t figure out how to put two characters toguether in iClone 8. I tryed the suggestions I found in this forum but it doesn´t seem to work for me (drag and drop a not selected character, option" send it do IClone 8" in CC4). What happens is: IClone 8 opens one character at the time, but not two at the same time. When I try to bring the second character, it closes the window of the first one. How do I keep both characters together in IClone8? Thanks

This is the first time I'm seeing your question on the Forum, so my apologies if I'm repeating something someone else already said but you need to make sure that you are not selecting your current character from the Scene window (on the left) - otherwise the new character you bring into your scene will replace the current one.

So, click on a light or something else in the scene before importing the second character. Let me know if that helps.

Hi!
I didn't select the character. Here´s a print of what I am doing. I want both characters together. I opened IClone 8, copied a video render version of my two characters (created with CC4) and saved them on the Custom area in the IC Project Folder. Then, I double click on one of the characters and it opens ok. But when I double click on the second character hoping to have both of them together, the first one is replaced by the second one. It´s not replaced because I selected the first character (I didn´t do it). It is replaced because the first character window closes and the other one opens with the second character only. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help

You are actually loading a PROJECT, not a character (Projects contain everything in a scene:  lights, cameras, props, characters, etc.)  Your screenshot shows 2 projects, each with 1 character.  So when you load a project, only the character in that project will be loaded.  Loading the other project wipes out everything in the scene and replaces it with the contents of the new project.

You need to save your character (either in iClone or CC) as an avatar (it will have a suffix of iAvatar or ccAvatar, depending on which program saved it).  Since you already have the characters in project(s), you could load in the first project, click on the character, go to the "Actor" tab and save it, then repeat for the 2nd character in the 2nd project.  Once you have both characters saved, you should open a new project and then you can load both characters from the "Actor" tab (not the Project tab).  Now when you save your new project it will contain both characters.  Additional characters can be added the same way.

Hi!
I tried to follow your instructions, but this is what happens:
1. I saved both characters as avatars using CC4 (since It could be done in both softwares as you said) PS: I tried the same thing using IC8 and got the same results
2. I opened opened and saved each one of them as characters/actors not as projects.
3. I created a new project, loaded the first character, ok. But then when I loaded the second character, a message asking if I want to replace character or outfit shows up. And the first character is replaced by the second one.
Thanks for your help

You are trying to add 2 characters in a Character Creator project and that won't work. Character Creator allows you to include Props and Accessories in a Project, but is restricted to only one character at a time. If you want more characters in your Project then you have to do that in iClone. Send your characters from CC to iClone, or export them as iAvatars from CC to iClone and then load them there in an empty Project.

Also, when you are loading a 2nd character into iClone, make sure the first character is not selected, as this will "overwrite" the first character with the 2nd one.
