Reallusion to Unity Transfer Setup
Based on what I know so far:
There are six CC3 courses/videos concerning Unity and two CC4 courses for Auto Setup.
Coming from the Unity space I can say that the render pipelines are usually a big pain for everyone but there are ways to make things work.
To publish on multiple platforms with good visual quality the URP is the way to go. It has gone quite some way from what was called Light Weight Render Pipeline before and can be used for a variety of applications now.
Looking at what I have here, it seems to be focused on HDRP exclusively.
Are there any obvious drawbacks or known issues when using the Standard (BIRP) or Universal Render Pipeline (URP)?
How do I go about using CC characters in Unity URP specifically?
(I can convert shaders for other pipelines or make adjustments in Blender)
Issues I have heard about so far:
"Missing support for URP"
"Very dependant shaders"
"Breaking models"
"Issues with animations and/or blendshapes"
Regarding blendshapes I am not that educated. Are there any tutorials/post on fixing those?
Is there any help for URP specific usage? Is it not supported at the moment?
Considering that URP is a valid choice for high-end/middle/low-end nowadays I think making a URP tutorial for any kind of Reallusion content is highly valuable.
It would also help to show the character creator (and other products) to similiar developers who are uncertain because of the looming danger of having no support for this pipeline or having to fix everything instead of making progress.
I would also recommend Reallusion to others if I could tell them how to set it up correctly.
About the Unity version I am using 2021.3 and onwards. Just to clarify.
Thank you for any kind of post, link or other form of help regarding this topic.
A good new year. Have fun creating. :)
Best wishes
