I exported a character from Character Creator 4. Assembled it in Maya, with Arnold materials. I posed it in iClone and created facial expressions. Now I want to export the animation and the expressions only so I can apply them in Maya on my character that I already put together there. But there seems to be no option for this. Am I missing something?

You can use Character Creator 4 to export just the animations. From iClone 8 you can only export animations with characters.

Yeah... at the moment you can NOT export animation data alone from IClone! You can export it with the mesh, but not separated ...
A workaround for this is to export your animations from CC4!
I use this workflow:
Animate in IClone Save the animation over the Content Browser in IClone Switch over to CC4, apply the previously saved anim onto character Export FBX using the really good FBX exporter in CC ... (animation only)
Not sure if this works for ONLY gesture keys tho ... Maybe if you delete the Motion Channel in IClone before saving for CC ... ?

To export characters with facial expressions for retargeting, you need to bake the morphs by saving the motion as a motionplus file first, apply the motionplus, and export.
iClone Certified Director and makes miserable Westerns.
