Depends of polygons, number and quality of textures, shadows, soft clothes collision detection, textures with HDD videos and so on. Sometime it's enough just to include a rich hair and you could drop below 10fps :D

i have a theory that this is an inevitable scenario....  I suspect that iclone simply bursts data,  so the faster your system,  the larger the burst of data and the more back to square 1 you are -  if you had a quantum computer,  then you'd get quantum bursts of data, and quite possibly a quantum computer crash in 2 points in spacetime with a rippling effect on all past present and future animation renders in multiple dimensions heh!

I'm not suggesting you try this -  but I did and I noticed a significant increase in performance https://www.wisecleaner.com/wise-memory-optimizer.html

I also stopped using it despite it having great results for security reasons,  I wasn't sure if this program was disabling / messing with my security -  and it's non official type software.  -  I never suffered anything bad from it,  I just stopped using it as a precaution since it optimized all my ram,  not just iclone...  but I saw a significant improvement on cc3 and ic7 -  which leads me to believe the above conclusion -  it's an optimization issue -  and no matter how fast your system is, iclone will simply over use it inefficiently - thus no fix  ( other than apparently a ram optimizer )  -  no matter what you do to your system iclone will 1 up you on inefficiency,  luckily the opposite is true too so I'm rendering just as fast as you with a lesser card because the inefficiency scales. lol

WOW ...you are right...I took out my 3080ti and put  in a 2080 in my computer and it improved my speed by 10 fps...then i tried a 1080 and it improved my speed all the way up to 60fps. However I cant switch gpu everytime I need to used iclone. I am going to give that software a chance and see if that helps. Thanks a bunch

I'm glad it helped,  but again,  be careful -  I haven't heard anything or read anything bad about that software -  but i'm very attentive to my system and I saw a few things happen that made me unsure, - stuff like getting logged out of things I didn't log out from.  it could simply be that's what happens when it cleans the ram but i have no way of proving or disproving that so it makes me unsure.

oh another thing,  you are better off with your fastest card,  as the theory is that your system will hold a lot more models and stay consistent at the lower 29 fps rate -   while my 60 fps will start to decline faster.    It's like since your system is more powerful, it's simply getting hit harder with the burst of data -  where as a slower system doesn't have the same mega burst power you do ...so it looks faster but in reality i don't have the same power to stay consistent as you do.

Basically ignore the FPS as a valid reference,  if your system burst the same amount of data in your 3080 to your 1080 -  your 1080 would suffer or crash -  thus the scaling concept -  60 fps is a lie if the system starts to slow down in performance after 3 characters and 29 fps is a lie if you can load 20 characters and not budge from 29 fps - thus the fps reference in the traditional sense is invalid.

Have you customised the settings in your Nvidia Control Panel for the 3080?

If so, please try the following to make sure you are allowing iClone to control your 3D Settings:

1. Right click on your Desktop and open the "Nvidia Control Panel".
2. Select "Manage 3D Settings" from the left panel.
3. Now on the Global Setting tab ensure you are using the default "Application Controlled" settings.
4. If you have customised the Global Settings and don't want to restore to default, switch to Program Settings instead.
5. Now set a custom profile for iClone that uses the default "Application Controlled" settings.

Do try this and see if it helps improve performance?

wow that makes sense...I am definitely going to keep the 3080ti card to handle it. Most of scenes are small... I really need the fps when i am using the take recorder for unreal engine..Thanks alot for your help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the suggestion.. I tried all of those steps and have not seen any improvement. I have contacted tech support and waiting to hear back from them. Any other ideas I will happily try. Thank you!!
