I saw a demo for the upcoming release of iClone 8.  I'm not sure if this is one program, or if it's two programs or more demonstrated in the video, I'm just looking for help in determining what I need.  And with this promotion, if I understand this correctly, I can purchase whatever I want and get these tools for free?

I don't think I want to spend more than $800, but does the iClone 8 or the Character Creator 4 come with the lip-syncing tools I saw in the video.  I'd want that.  I'd also want the ability to animate the characters including the interactions with other characters, and the auto step corrections like it showed in the demo video.  I want to say it was called Director something, is this included as well.

Blender is the only 3D program I know and am comfortable using, so I am wondering if these tools will sync with Blender or if perhaps they could replace Blender.  I know it pretty well, can model and create scenes, create materials, fluid smoke and fire simulations, etc, but animating characters has always been a challenge for me in blender, so this is why I'd be interested with iClone.

Finally, I've been also trying to find a way to use MetaHumans with Blender but haven't seen an easy way to do this.  Does iClone have this capability.

Thank you.

Hi...

Currently you can get free copies of iClone 8 and CC4 by spending $799+ on software and content during the qualifying period.

After the special pre-sale offer you can buy both iClone 8 and CC4 for $699 (full price) or $599 (upgrade price).

iClone 8 comes with advanced lip-syncing tools, the ability to animate your character as shown in the videos, and the new "Director" mode you mentioned.

iClone 7 currently allows integration with the Metahuman character allowing you to use iClone animations with Metahuman characters and this will continue and advance going forward into iClone 8 and CC4.

Regarding replacing Blender, only you can really answer that one once you have had time to experience iClone 8 and CC4 (or even iClone 7 and CC3). I personally don't use Blender as I can do everything I want within the iClone and CC systems, but of course everybody is different. It really depends on your needs. Obviously if you are heavily into modelling then Blender will still have it's advantages, but for character creation and animation I think iClone 8 and CC4 will be everything you need.
