Mr.Necturus had an animated Archer with a working bow, but unfortunately he's gone now:

I also have an "English Archer" from an old 100 years war pack. It contained a great animated project where the archer would pull an arrow from his quiver, then load and fire it with the bow. I have redownloaded that from my inventory but 3dx wont convert the .vns files  and I can`t make it work in IC7.

I just tried this and it worked using another approach:

I exported the animated archer as iAvatar in iC5 and then reimported this iAvatar back in the same project (to change the VNS-Archer into an iAvatar) and then saved the whole project again. If the project is still saved as VNS you can easily rename it to iProject.
Afterwards, it will also work in iC7:


Unfortunately, the bow itself has no animation. So, you would still have to "Edit" the "Animation layer".
But at least with this bow it's possible.

Another forum member of the german forum once offered a free project containing an archer:

Many thanks for the tip tripfreak. I no longer have IC5 installed on my current computer but still have all the .exe files on a back up drive. Will make a nice little project over the holiday to try and restore the archer to full working.

I think I found a solution for you.
And the best thing is, it's free !

First, I couldn't remember where I got the right bow in the blue picture from.
But then I found another one in the Avatar section.
They were/are both freebies from Wil Veeke:


The animated bow (right) is an iProp with 2 shooting motions: LINK
and the left one is a character with 2 motion files: LINK

I searched for Wil Veeke because I knew the character bow was made by Wil.

But you're rigtht, there is definitely something wrong with the search function in the marketplace (and probably also in the contentstore).
Dozens of stuff that has nothing to do with a "bow" but the true results are not shown (even if they contain the tag "bow": LINK

I can't thank you enough, everything works perfectly. The weird thing is, they were both in my inventory as well, but for some reason I didn't have the regular bow on the right (standard looking one) downloaded.

Another weird thing - when you click that user's profile to see all his items, those bows do not show up in that store. So other than future users finding your post through a Google search, those bows are just "invisible" to the public. Can't search it due to Reallusion's broken search engine, and can't "browse" to it as it doesn't show on that guy's page. 

I'm just glad you looked into this for all of us!
