Like the other poster here, I keep getting "character not supported" when trying to import an IC7 character into CT8 pipeline.
Can only import IC6 characters. Same goes for characters made with CC: Can't import them.
I checked your manual for CT pipeline: claims that I should just be able to drag and drop the content into CT8 pipeline.
That, and the constant crashing of the program when you try and make a project of 3 minutes lenght or more is a CRAZY bug.
In fact, making the program useless.  Please let me know how to fix this. 
I even tried converting the characters into Iclone6 /CC 1.5 IAvatars, but get weird errors when I try.
 

If you find you can't open some iClone 7 characters in CrazyTalk 8 Pipeline, please try sending the avatar to Character Creator 2 and then export from there in "Character Creator 1.5 & iClone 6.5 format". You can see from the screenshot below that this works well for most iClone 7 characters such as Jade.

I don't believe this is a bug as I can't reproduce it and it isn't a commonly reported problem. 

It is more likely system related, so please try updating your graphics drivers and run Windows Update to ensure your system is fully up to date. Do also ensure you have plenty of free defragmented hard drive space on the C: drive and clean your temporary files as leftover files can cause problems. In Windows 10 you can do this from Settings > System > Storage and then select the C: drive.

Hi. I have the same problem importing an avatar to CT8.
I made a 3D character in CT8 Pipeline, then exported the head to CC3 Pipeline. Then I immediately Exported Avatar from CC3 and tried to import to CT8.  It gives me an error:

"The file is not supported by CrazyTalk please try another file"

This really does not make any sense for pipeline ......
And I don´t have Character Creator 2, is there a way I can access it (buy having bought CC3) ?  Or is there another way I can solve these issues ?
I Appreciate reallusion team, or anyone urgent help on this. Thanks.

CrazyTalk 8 is only compatible with .iAvatars created in iClone 6 or Character Creator 1/2 format. As Character Creator 3 doesn't support these formats, any avatars saved in CC3 won't be compatible with CrazyTalk 8.

If you don't have a download available for Character Creator 2 on your Reallusion Account > Registration page or in the Reallusion Hub, you can contact Customer Support using the link below. If you explain you need it for CrazyTalk 8 they should be able to provide a copy and a serial number for you. You can have both CC2 and CC3 installed at the same time so it won't affect your use of the current version.

I have the same problem. I made a test and my iAvatar could not be imported into CrazyTalk 8 Pipeline. The iAvatar-file was exported from Character Creator 3 Pipeline. If I understand it correctly only iAvatars exported from Character Creator 2 can be imported into CrazyTalk 8 Pipeline? Is it possible to buy or get a free copy of the old Character Creator 2 ?
