Lately my iclone has been falling apart and i have now encountered this issue, but i also found out how to fix it. When you open a Project and find that your trees are gone, close iclone and go to your temp files folder and delete everything, open up iclone and your Project should have trees again

The issue with Speedtrees disappearing is being looked into and we hope to have a permanent fix in the next update.

For now the workaround mentioned by Tony should resolve the problem with the trees.

I know of quite a few users on the iclone FB groups who are having the invisible trees problem...myself included.
I'm not one for complaining usually, but TP2 wasn't a cheap pack and it's not as if it's ancient either.
Hope we see an effective (and easy to apply) fix soon RL. Much appreciated :-)

I have a favela scene in Brazil, I have a pretty good amount of trees, palm and banana. All of a sudden some of my trees disappeared, they are still listed in the program items, and you see the yellow highlight box where each of them are suppose to be if highlighted. I then downloaded the trees files again and they worked the first loading but failed later two or three times, I changed my video card settings about a month or so ago, and that seemed to work until I came to work back on the scene yesterday to see how it looks in 3D. I thought I solved the problem, but apparently not. It seems to be only certain trees in the grouping that have this problem, the banana and the small palm trees. I came on here today hoping there was a solution because I want to continue the project not troubleshoot. I'm just so happy that I can now render without crashing regardless of what output file format or length. I will also check to see if any update didn't reset my video card settings on the NYVIDIA video panel. Good luck to all. If I find that it has, and I change the setting back and all works, I'll let you know.

Other people had confirmed that renaming that folder worked, however my 'workaround' also assumed that you have Mix Moves content.
As KT suggested, a good starting point would be to use a dry folder with just SpeedTrees and see if it works.
You know, you don't actually have to Reinstall per say, you could just (1) rename your existing "Template" folder to say "TemplateA" and then simply make another folder and call it "Template" with the same folder structure (This would take some time), and add SpeedTrees by itself to see if it works.

In my case they never disappeared and reappeared, but it DID do that in KT's case....so what I and KT experienced is not exactly the same, now that I think about it.
The Rabbit Hole deepens....ugh!

But you know what, the SpeedTrees need a lot of updating anyway....you should be able to tweak more than just the tree and its physics.
Materials should be a part of that experience, like in PopcornFX.

You might try reinstalling iClone (make sure you completely remove it first, though).  If that still doesn't work (iClone will keep your folder structures intact and all content there during a reinstall) then copy all your content off somewhere, reinstall iClone, and install first Speedtrees and see if it works (which I'm sure it will).  Then slowly reinstall all the rest.

The alternative (and it's fine) is to file a troubleticket but I'm sure they will have a reinstall as a first troubleshooting step (and perhaps all the rest that I suggest).

I cannot confirm this on my machine.  I've updated the latest video drivers but they still dont show up for me.  Went and renamed the folder as you suggested.  Rebooted the application.  Trees still not showing up.  Very frustrating (but very thankful for your efforts).

One upon a time, in a desolate land, filled with no trees at all...
I reinstalled iClone to find it fixed my invisible Speed Tree issue.
Now, upon reinstalling, I had named the content folder from "Template" to "TemplateA" to keep it from being touched by the new reinstall, so I had a newly created content folder "Template", and an older folder "TemplateA", which was full of content.

After testing the new install and finding that SpeedTrees worked, I switched my content folder names back around so that I had my old folder with the content named "Template".
However, I found that if I then used this older folder now, the SpeedTree issue was back.
So, I switched the Template names around back, and, when I used the newer created Template folder that was smaller, the trees worked fine.
I flipped my content folders back and forth, and found the pattern, and deduced it must be something about, or inside, the old folder.

What I discovered through tests was that the folder for MixMoves was the key.
Specifically, "00_Female (CC)"

...\Template\iClone 7 Template\iClone Template\MographMotion\00_Female (CC)

If you rename it to, say "00_Female (CC) A", or anything different than it was, it disables Mix Moves from working.
BUT...it returns the trees!

As such, even if you have the issue, you can change it back and forth depending on your project needs.

So, rename the folder "00_Female (CC)" to something different, like "00_Female (CC) A", or "RL-Please_Fix_the_Bug_with_MixMoves_and_SpeedTrees...NOW"....
... and, GO GREEN

So I did buy this wonderful Total Plant 2 package... and installed it. But I'm still having nothing appearing; Sounds like it's a problem with PopCorn FX. Anybody has news from Reallusion about a patch for this ?

It's not a PopcornFX problem -- I use Speedtrees with Popcorn just fine (made my Disney fireworks animation with it).

Some folks found having a Mixmoves pack (um, Communications?) installed was the problem, but I have that pack as well and it works (then again, I've moved around my directories quite a bit so they aren't at the defaults).  But you ought to be able to get Speedtrees working -- you DO have an NVidia card, right?

I don't have a technical solution, but as KT said, Reallusion will make things right.
Keep an eye on the return policy dates.  Reallusion will honor refunds, so no worries in that regard.
Hopefully you get it to work.
