Hey there. I wonder if anyone can help me out. I am currently involved in a project that requires a character to be caught in a rope trap and is left dangling upside down with the rope attached to his leg and the rope attached to a tree. I have tried several methods to achieve this, but to no avail. Could anyone point me to a resource, or a tutorial to help me out. I am still currently using iClone 5.5 at the moment. Hope you can help.

I don't have iC5.5 installed any more, but might have an idea.
Set your rope contraint between 2 objects (like the default cube). Make one cube kinimatic and the other dynamic. Now one should dangle on the end of the rope, and you can place the other where you want. Link your avatar to the dynamic cube.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried this method. The problem is actually making the rope visible, as when I render the rope seems to always be invisible and it looks like the objects are dangling from nothing.

Silly question but the visibilty checkbox is on and the color contrasts with the background? You can see the checkbox here: https://www.reallusion.com/iclone/help/iclone5/PRO/20_Physics/Constraint/Rope.htmNot sure if you can adjust the thickness of the line though. Might just need to attack a rope prop to the physics prop to get the desired thickness.

If the rope does need to stretch at all, maybe a solid cylinder will work. The rope is supporting a heavy weight, so will be straight. Only the two ends would pivot a little, and the whole thing might twist a bit. ;)

Solid cylinders... and a bit of creative editing.
You can change camera angle.. see the foot step into the noose, see the body rotate (1/4 second), get a glimpse of his face (1/4 second), the body zipping upward (1/4 second)... and the next thing you know he's swinging upside down, so at that point the rope will be taught and essentially straight. Yeah, that solid cylinder approach might work.
