In all aspects of iClone setting up and rigging and animating there is nothing set up for a character to pull out its tongue to lick a stamp, ice cream, or show disgust? Seem the only time the tongue is animated is with phonemes. What is the typical rigging solution for animation requiring the tongue to be animated when the rig doesn't use a bone for the tongue?

Why wouldn't you just create a custom morph for this?

You can get some of the characters to perform a simple tongue out and back in by creating a Facial Animation profile in 3dXchange. I just tried to do it with Mason. The default actions leaves a lot of options not available such as curling, but he will stick his tongue out using the facial puppet panel once the profile is created. 76% of original size (was 660x19) - Click to enlarge

I created all my characters in the least convenient way it seems. I made blend shapes for the tongues of all my characters and use the Custom Expression Editor in 3DX to then realize that I can only puppet control the tongue in iClone.

I made blend shapes for the tongues of all my characters and use the Custom Expression Editor in 3DX to then realize that I can only puppet control the tongue in iClone. I wish you did it like Ms. Vidi does.... using (keyframed) bones and morph /Blendshapes (in sync). This combination is far more intuitive. Cheers, sw00000p  Ms. Who? How do you get it to (in sync)?

Oh I see. Maybe I should use a bone next to the head to act like a control. You turn the bone and the tongue comes out like a cash register Cha-Ching! :)
