Hi:

sorry for my poor english. We are french.
Our project is to make a professionnal DVD quality movie with :
- 15 minutes
- 8 actors
- about 100 props
- lot of animation and voice

We want just changed the face of one or two actors and then export the project to make a DVD professionnal quality.
The constraint is that the time to export must be less than 10 minutes to obtain a DVD professionnal quality.

What is the minimal hardware configuration to export in less than 10 minutes to make a DVD professionnal quality
- OS system ?
- processor ?
- graphic card ?
- other ????

If you're using iClone, it doesn't Export to DVD, only File.

You need an NLE Video Program to Edit your iClone Exported File, Rendering that Edit to DVD.

If you want a High Quality DVD, you need to Export from iClone in HD & possibly a Blue Ray DVD Writer to produce a Blue Ray DVD. To view that, viewers would need a Blu Ray DVD Player.

I'm not an Expert re; DVD Authoring, especisally HD, which is a specialist Subject.

In any event, You need  a PC that's upto the job. Either a Custom-built one or a Store purchased one.

New PC's have W7 OS Installed.

A Desktop PC like the one in my Signature, which was Custom Built specifically to Run iClone, would be more than sufficient. However, I might need to eventually Upgrade My Video Card & System RAM.

There's no quick & easy answer to your question, since not everyone uses iClone for the same purpose.

In short, iClone & Video Editing Programs need a mid-range Gaming PC Hardware Specification, since the Data Transfer Rate requirements are similar. That's putting it very simply.

You need to spend several weeks getting information from other iClone Users as to their opinions, before you purchase. That being said, the PC Specification in my Signature would be a good starting point.

Visit www.pcspecialist.co.uk to get an idea of the PC Hardware Specifications that Gamers, Video Editors & iCloners use. Look at the extreme Video Editing PCs.

Here's a Link to a recent PC Hardware Custom Built Specification, to also give you an idea of a suitable PC for your needs: http://forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/permalink/485016/501074/ShowThread.aspx#501074

ADDED - Sorry, I forgot  you need tobe a Forum Member to view it. I'll see if I can Copy & Paste it here.

Colour, that's a nice spec and very similar to what I built recently. Main difference is an i7 2600K and a 580GTX GPU.

And, like Colour said, iClone doesn't burn DVDs or Blurays, that's external. I use Sony Vegas and it includes an option to burn to Bluray from there, which would be the preferred way for high quality. Also, if you are concerned about speed of production and maximum quality you should export from iClone as uncompressed AVI or as PNG image sequence. Do not use any of the available codecs while exporting.
