Its intrigueing so see their prices crash since the introduction of iClone Studio and etc...
But I'm suddenly being blasted with adds like this and, if corporate entities are so interested in animated character speaking on their web pages then isn't this an arena we ought to focus on.

From my recollection, systems similar to the linked information below used to carry a heavy budget suck of a price tag. A licence for only one server and, worse, you didn't get to host the engine in your own environment.
From my experience, the inability to theme such engines with a complimentary background is an emmediate failing.

Flash is 'nice'..... in its place, but evolutionarily speaking, the 3D environment is apparent right across the board from the sale of baked beans on TV to special effects utilised by the biggest world banks in their national banking campaigns through the same media.
I see virtuality in street posters, magazines and cinema. But precious little by comparison using Flash anymore
.
I don't see, therefore, any exageration in saying that FAQ engines and opening announcements, similarly sized as the linked example below, would particularly be any detriment to promotion and comparitively, a similar bandwidth take, if the client base was a target trhough a corporate operation one would assume utilised broad band at a high degree anyway and with this in mind a three minute streamable message and talk through coupled with links to additional information could only be a win-win situation for any designer to create impression... and any company that chose to employ such technique for winning over their potential custom, no matter what sphere of business they're involved within.
Any other views?
Armstrong.
