Wondering if anyone has had problems after installation getting CT4 to launch, and receiving a windows send error message after each click on the icon shortcut. CT3 web edition installed and works fine. Any info concerning this problem would be appreciated-been waiting a long time for CT4....and now still waiting to get it going.

Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark,

Could you send me a screen capture of the error message and let me know your id in the forum? I'll check what the problem might be. Thanks.

I'm having trouble with the ct4 active x control not loading correctly. It just tells me that it failed to install and stops on the progress bar.

I am DEFINITELY having problems, I can't get this program to install to save my life. It gets half-way through install and then I get an error message that says DLL Function Call error. I tried to use the Skype one too, to see if I had the same issue and insertsmilie('')
Disapprove .

I need this to work URGENTLY!! Please help. I am trying to install on a brand new Toshiba 1.2G machine with 40G HDD and 512Ram running XP so my machine is not the problem. I have also recently swept my machine for spyware, and am running Norton antivirus which is fully up to date.

I've had the same problem but instead of some constructive advice they prefer to blame the INSTALL software.( INSTALL SHIELD)

Now if they know this is what the problem is why don't they write their own install program.

Instead we get time wasting comments like "send us a screenshot"
For crying out loud. This is not an isolated case. Clearly your new version has a problem, be it with INSTALL SHIELD or your own software., GET IT SORTED and stop wasting our time while you sit back and figure ouy what your going to put in the next version.

Hi Jerbear,

I know it can be so frustrating when you have a problem and nobody seems to be trying to help you out. If you notice this thread was started in July 2005 and had not been replied to since March 2006 so you can see it is not a common problem and most people install without a hitch. Although not any consolation to you, the problems you are experiencing are pretty rare and sometimes these strange errors are very difficult to diagnose.

I'm sure everybody at RL are doing their best to solve your problem but sometimes things slip through the net so a little reminder to tech support can't do any harm.

Now I doubt this will help you but I had a similar problem a while back when I installed iClone and Crazytalk onto a new laptop. I got to almost a full install when I got the dreaded "This program has had to close" message for both IC and CT. After a lot of head scratching I decided to send the error report to the big guns at Microsoft and low and behold Uncle Bill's team came back with a reply that I needed to update my Intel Wireless Adapter drivers. I duly followed instructions not believing for one minute that it would solve the problem but surprise, surprise it did and immediately afterwards iClone and Crazytalk installed perfectly.

Sometimes the weirdest of things can cause problems that can stump the best of us.

I really hope you get a resolution to your problem soon.

Hi Movicomuk

I didn't actually notice the date of the posting but here's the strange bit....I only responded because this forum sent me an e-mail to tell me that this topic had been updated with another post and when I clicked the link in the e-mail it took me to the one I responded to. I guess it's not just Crazy Talk they have a problem with.

As for Crazy Talk v4. I have tried installing it on 3 different systems. Two at home and one at work...NO JOY.

Got a mate to try as well and guess what....NO JOY.

I have a previous version that installs just fine on any of the systems I previously tried buy v4 just closes the door.

I had already started my own thread regarding this, https://forum.reallusion.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1846,
and I have asked a number of times regarding an update to the problem.
Seems like my requests have fallen on deaf ears.

Well it's their loss.....I was going to buy it but if they are not all that anxious to help then I'm sure I'll find another home for my hard earned cash.

Hi Jerbear,

You got the email saying this topic had been updated because a spam message was posted on many old threads including this one (which I have since deleted) but this obviously triggered the email sent to you.

I know this is probably a dumb question but have you tried downloading the trial version of Crazytalk again. It would seem that if you have tried on several different PC's then that would normally point to a corrupted installer if you used the same copy of the trial each time. Just for testing purposes I downloaded the CT trial and it installed ok for me today.

I can fully understand you running out of patience on this. I do hope you get the chance to try out Crazytalk one day because it is a fantastic program. With Crazytalk 5 due around September you may have more luck then if nothing can be done for you before.

Regards
