I would say you have a great system there and you should have very few problems pushing up the poly limit.

Give it a try and let us know how you get on. You can switch on the fps display in preferences to see how increasing the polygon limit affects your real time performance.

What should i be looking for as the fps values change. And what is the purpose of knowing the frames per second ?

You can use the frames per second figure as a guide to the performance you are getting. For example on the default project that loads when you start iClone, the fps should be fairly high, say 30-40fps.

As you add more characters, props, sfx, motion etc the fps will begin to drop when the project is run. You can use the fps numbers to see the point where the scene becomes too complex to run real time at a reasonable fps.

As a guide, Film runs at 24 fps, Pal Video 25fps and NTSC Video 30fps. If your fps drops below 10-15, movement will appear jerky and not smooth as it is at a higher figure.
