Hi All,

I did try to Google the following topics as well as search the forum, but no luck - maybe I am search-challenged :)

1) How can I easily butt one object against another, at least even approximately without dragging an object around with the movement widget? This includes dragging a new object close to another existing object.

2) How can you create a mirror image of an object? i.e. Left to Right?

3) How can you simulate rain and lightning?

4) Copy and paste objects within the scene (without saving and dragging them back in)?

               

go to preference and turn on grid and snap to grid this lets you adjust position and move them close, turn off grid to do the final tweaks


good question - haven thought or done this myself


go to the particle section for rain, lightning can be done by animating the lights and/or inserting a billboard prop with a lighting image mapped to it and turning its visibility on/off - or i believe there was a lightning freebie offered at coolclones.com



for objects/props, click on the prop, then click on the XY position icon on the top bar then while hoding down CTRL, drag the prop and you'l create a duplicate one

Those tips will save me some time...the lightning and rain I'll try later :)

               

I also noticed that the copy and paste function also works with multiple selections which is handy.

Does anyone know why you can't copy and paste trees?
Are trees not considered to be props or something?

I'm 'planting' trees and copy and pasting them would save me time.
