well am glad I could be of so much help. about the issue with the contorted motion files, I faced them too when I was converting. In my case a wrote a small program to generate the batch conversion lists and did the AMC/ASF to BVH conversions in about an hr and a half. I realized during the conversion from BVH to VNS that the problem was from the ASF files that were supplied with their respective motion captures. so I simply identified one 'healthy' ASF file (20.asf) and used it to reconvert the corresponding AMC files of the affected BVH files into new BVH files. Worked like a charm!

Well it might also interest you to know that after converting 1900 files, my hard drive crashed so I've lost them all

was intereted in the carnegie mellon mocaps and if I could use them in iclone started downloading cmu files  realised, could take awhile 1GB! Ionly have 5GB a month data allowance so I can see why it would be a mammoth task to convert these to other formats. have only iclone3standard so couldn't do anything anyway, (bvh converter not funtional)thought I could use them anyway in daz3d but when I realized how massive, no thanks, if I could find a link to someone else's vns conversions that actually worked would be happy to pay for someone elses effort, have tried links in forums no avail, even the one with $1 files wouldn't give me a purchase\download page, anyway cheers wendy

ps.already have some of the bvh files from cmu that I use in daz pity these can't easily be converted to vns, but life can't be that easy, thanks for the info anyway, I guess the long and short of it is unless I have iclone studio I can't use bvh files and need to rely on someone else doing it.
