hi all

sorry about the caps on the title but i am having huge problems

last weekend my computer went down. the only thing i managed to save was my iclone stuff (characters, props, projects etc)

on monday i went into my reinstalled iclone (i had all the updates before and i have reinstalled everything) to have a look to see if my projects where ok. when i loaded the projects there was trial underneath all the projects that i had done with my purchased jane gown and jack overcoat. so i panicked. but i found that when i re-saved the project files they where fine.

so i went into iclone today and i was setting up my new scene. i put in the characters that i had made before the crash and suddenly the screen had iclone all over it. i tried to save the avatar but it said i had to buy it from iclone.

so what do i do now?

i have downloaded the two avatars that i had brought before but the other characters still have trial underneath them.

please some one help and please dont tell me that i am going to have to redo all my characters again.

any help would be great.

Hi Chris,

Sorry to hear of your computer problems and the resulting iClone problems that followed.

With the new DRM content from both the store and BackStage, it is important that your account details match for your original iClone3 and the purchased content when reinstalling.

It is also important that you are connected to the internet during this process and when using the content for the first time. If you are not then this could be causing your problem. 

It is not unusual to see "New" or "Trial" under certain content titles but these should go away after the first time you use them providing all your account details match up. Did you use the same iClone3 serial to install again this time as the one with which the content was purchased?

I would think the best thing you can do is contact support if this issue continues. They will be able to check the situation for you.

i was conected to the internet when i installed iclone 3 and i used all the same updates etc. i will check today. if there is no joy then i will try the support forum. thanks again.

Its ok i sorted it.

i re installed iclone but i conected my computer to the internet. like you mentioned i did all the updates and once it was installed i then loaded each avatar and it worked. so the trial is over.

I've just had the same issue, I reinstalled Vista 2wks ago because of widespread program crashes window freeze ups and IE opening up to 98 times before I could stop it by pulling the battery out as I couldn't shut it down and having to restart in safe mode and use system restore or it would just do it again, as it would next time I went on the web, only conclusion I could come to was a likely virus so I bit the bullet and reinstalled.

Anyway I got around to reinstalling iClone3 standard from my backup disc, I'd kept all my content exe's and patches only to find none of it would install or if I copied templates from windows old they were trial, after panicy emails to reallusion the updates did indeed fix this but now my grasses don't have any resolution, just clumps of black spots yet copied templates and project files of corrupted grass all work in the iC4ex demo inc backstage grasses, reallusion says it's my crappy graphics card and my driver is old but they worked before! and I went to Dell for the latest drivers when I reinstalled, iC4ex works and so do my trees and water. Also all my backstage motions are still trial.:w00t:

I already suspected this was a drm thing, is there a way to redownload your bought backstage content? it's all in my inventry but there's no redownload option.

BTW I am downloading iClone4 standard as I type as the demo works so well and there was a discount coupon in an email to tempt me, hope I can use my content in that too!

The demo opens all my projects from iC3 so hopefully standard will.;)

You should of course make sure that you are using the same account (username and password) for your new iClone as the one with which you purchased the content. This is vey important or you will not be able to register the content successfully.

Then all you need to do to resolve the DRM issue is to click the "?" button in the top right of the iClone window and then select Content 1 Click Verification. As long as you are connected to the internet then all should be well.

thanks, just opened iClone3 again and my purchased backstage stuff loaded without the iclone text on the scene and trial disappears from under it, so if I miss anything I will have to make sure I'm online and logged in presssumably to use it.

Still have the grass problem though;)

if I save the project the grass appears normal opened in the iC4ex demo so hopefully also 4standard when eventually I finish downloading it (yawn! on the enu resource now)

Hi Wendy.. I'm a little confused. Is the grass problem only in iClone3 or iClone4 or both?

With regards to the install situation. Make sure you uninstall first while connected to the internet and your install count won't rise when you reinstall.

only 3 and only after update patches installed, I can open a saved project from it in 4ex and it works okay, when I've installed 4 standard and all is working will probably try reinstalling 3 again while online but that won't be today:P

just finished installing iClone 4 standard, so far ALL my stuff and iClone 3 project files work in it, plants/grass okay:P
