How do I get to the joint masking on CTA3? Will making these tighter provide more of a lock and lack of wide movement where the parts of the character separate when the character moves? Is this only available on certain character generations?

Joint Mask are for G2 Characters. A True G1 Character is created in Crazytalk Animator 1, however you can make a G2 Single angle character to have a similar effect. The joint mask option is kind of hidden in CTA3 (at least the Mac version of it) now you have to go into the Edit Menu in order to use it.

For G1 and G2 characters you can use Joint Masks. See HERE for an explanation of how this works. For G3 characters you can use the Mask Editor.
