Dear Friends,

I used the G5 CloneCloth for Chuck to create the shirt as in the image below.

The final outputI need is similar to the image below...

As you can see I am unable to get the open collar effect and the shirt tucked in. Any suggestions on how I can achieve this?

Regards

Shilpa

I replied in a different thread to this also....

Hi there,

The only cloth of Chuck Clone Cloth that will work for appearance of shirt tucked in is the Bodysuit. It's very body hugging, but with a good bump map it can be improved. The collar would have to be done with photoshop, drawing and using shadows.

The other cloths such as Casual, would only work for shirt over the pants. And of course suit, overcoat, and hoodie are not suitable. In the case of your picture, you have both tucked in and part hanging out - that would be really tricky.

For G3 I was able to achieve the look here - and as I improve with photoshop, I might be able to do a better job now than when I did that.

It may be possible to do this using sculpting program to alter the mesh, but I'm not sure, I would have to try. Anyway, were you looking for entire shirt to tuck in or half in half out as in your picture.

My grain of salt, ...

The best way to achieve this type of effect is to export the mesh, alter it  in an external 3D program being very careful not to cause too much distrotion on the uvMap and then re-import the mesh.

However, when going trough 3dXchange, you cannot relax the UV map so personally, I would alter it in max, relax the uvmap to get good result and export back using the reallusoin Max export plugin. This way, you would get a perfect result with a perfectly relaxed UV map.

Just my opinion. :)

Hope this helps.

Here is an attempt using Chuck Casual Upper - which I exported through 3dxchange and then did some changes in Zbrush.  It's not great and with more time, it could be improved.  I am still learning.  And I could do a better job of the collar if I spent more time.

Here is an example of the bodysuit upper being textured (not like your picture, but gives you the idea) - I haven't tried to do a shirt like your picture, but it would never have the baggier more wrinkled look.

Something like this?

Still a bit of work on the texture on the sleeve to do, will try to finish this soon.

I have got the flu so I'm not getting much done this week.

This was done with 3d exchange and 3dMax.
