Looking at Daz and Iclone I know why content is the money .. but why does the software itself have to be excluded from offers ... would it not be just as profitable to consider Iclone the software as just another content pack ....

This is just the decision made by the marketing team I'm afraid. You can purchase a full or upgraded version of iClone4 Pro and receive a FREE copy of iClone5 Pro or purchase $199.95 or more of content (offers expire September 15th).

Both ways are good deals though. Many companies wouldn't offer this kind of deal at all and would just offer standard upgrade prices to existing customers or purchase new. Getting $200 of content and a FREE copy of iClone5 Pro doesn't seem too bad of a deal to me. ;)
