can't find CTA custom folder

I'm currently chasing my tail at a ridiculous pace trying to find Users\Public\Documents\Reallusion\Custom\CrazyTalk Animator Custom\Background.  This is where I'm trying to install the 250 free backgrounds.  I can find a "shared custom" folder.  That does have a CTA subheading but the file is empty.  I tried to install them there but that can't be right.  The program doesn't find them.  I then try to load by browsing and directing the program to the file.  When I try to use a .jpg, the program freezes up.  I have "show all hidden files" checked.  Where can I find the proper place to install them?

You installed CTA to the default location, and are using standard Windows Explorer to locate and paste into the Custom folder - yes?

There are a couple of possibilities. On older out-dated version of Windows, such as XP, these new Windows folders for CTA's Custom content may be installed to a different location?

Can you locate your iClone custom folders? The CTA ones should be nearby.

I guess it's also possible that the default Windows XP / Vista / 7 "newbie lockdown" may be "hiding" what it wrongly thinks of as "system" files and folders, including the Custom folder?

Thanks for replying.  I am using Windows 7 and IE 9.  I can find the CT custom folders (they are at the address I gave you earlier).  What is a "Newbie Lockdown?"  More important, how do I remove or over-ride it?

Hi Bob

Just try this.

Open CrazyTalk Animator and press Scene - Background.

Then in Content Manager press the Custom tab.

Now Right Click on the Background folder (shown below) and choose Find File.

This will open Windows Explorer with the Backgrounds folder open.

Then just place your new backgrounds in this folder.

Give it a try and see if this helps. :)

Hello, Peter:

Many, many thanks for the good advice.  I had just copied the files in that manner and they now work perfectly.  What a great forum and moderator!
