I have a character facing one way and I now want him to walk forward , but every time I use the move forward command he turns around then around again to go in the direction I wanted. I have tried collecting the clip to the point he is facing the right way then removed all animation, then given the walk forward command but he still insists on turning around first .....
Help please I am one step away from ususingy keyboard to beat my computer to death :)
Thank you

gah, i hate when that happens, it means your computer needs an exorcism, or just reload a fresh project / existing project/ or even restart program and try again - sometimes stuff stays in memory and there's no way to access it !! 3:=)

Just in case... when you choose "walk forward", you have to then click on the spot that you want him to walk to. If you click behind him, he'll turn around and walk to that spot that you clicked on.

Collect all in one clip (with unwanted turns) then just cut those turns and connect the remaining parts of the clip with overlap. It works :)

Thanks for the replies Kurzals solution is working but is very time consuming as ever motion I applied even poses causes the avatar to turn to face the wrong way (but always the same way)
I know Im doing something wrong but I dont know what  It does happen with all characters not just 1 its like the avatar resets its position every time I apply a motion, pose or command to it ...

THANK YOU
It didnt solve the problem but did point me in the right direction, The problem was that I moved my character from its start position and rotated it but it had a key fram on the motion layer that refered to its initial placement. Deleting the keyframe and adding a new one sorted the problem ...

Hi
I am going nuts trying to do this simple animation all I want is my character to walk up to a car open the bonnet then step backwards while turning to face a tool box then walk up to the tool box.
The opening the bonnet is animated using the Edit Motion Layer tool and the step back is a step forward clip played backward. It’s after using the step backward clip that things go wrong, the character does a full turn before heading towards the toolbox.
I know I am doing something wrong so could one of you kind people tell me how they would set about doing this so I can see where I am going wrong or point me to a tutorial or thread that deals with combining manual animation and those from the library or motion commands.
The problem is I do not know where the problem is so don’t know where to be looking for the solution, I have a feeling it is something to do with reseting whatthe character considers to be forward.
Thanks
