I know you can import character models you've made elsewhere into Poser and rig them. So if you guys came up with a "dummy character rig" for Poser and an exporter, it would sure make a lot of people happy.

Plus Poser has such a huge user base, it just seems like a smart move for Iclone to do so.

Any hopes of this happening?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply guys. I feel welcome here.

OK, if poser is too puny for you lofty max or maya owners, how about a Collada or FBX import for 3dexchange? And fix the BVH import feature while you're at it.

Or maybe even an exporter for Cinema 4D or any 3d package under ten grand. Or is the goal to keep the creation of custom characters limited to the few? ;)

And hey, thanks again for the support.

Hi,

Sorry for the lack of response to your original post. I'm afraid it slipped through the net during the busy iClone3 release. If this ever happens don't hesitate to bump it back up with a quick reminder message or drop me a PM.

Over time there have been many requests for a Poser exporter but sadly the only plugins currently available are for 3DS Max and Maya. Even with a plugin, using Poser models would not be as straight forward as you may think. Most of the later models such as Victoria 4 would not be usable in iClone because of the very high poly count. For iClone to maintain its "real time enviroment" high poly models are not really a realistic option.

New ways to get content into iClone is always being looked at so things may change at some time in the future.
