Hi all,

1. To apply for Reallusion CCD, must we use 3ds max for modelling?
(because there is only 3ds max template)

2. There is a 3DX change, could we use Wings3D instead? or milkshape3d in future?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sammy,

Currently you will need 3DS Max to create new figures for iClone as the templates, RL Bones system and plug-ins are only available for Max. You can use 3DXchange and the software you mentioned to create props, scenes and accessories though.

Hi movicomuk,

What is the lowest version of 3ds max does the plug-in support?

Thanks in advance.

For the G1 templates the lowest version of Max required was 6 but with new templates coming soon for the G2 characters I think you may need a higher version than 6.

More details will become available when the templates are released later this month.

Dear Sammy

G2 character template requires the version of Max R8 and above.

You can use other 3D tools and export as props/accessories/scenes for sale through 3DXchange. But only 3ds Max & the plug-in can help export a character that can be applied to any animation.

In addition, you can also edit the textures of specific character for sale. You can refer to here
http://www.reallusion.com/contentstore/content.aspx?MenuItem=ic_avatar&type=G1%20Texture

There are many content packs that are generated from iClone itself. In brief, you can simply use a photo and modify an iClone character's head, face and clothing. You can make a character for sale without Max.

Movicomuk is skilled at it for sure, I think he can share some good experiences for you too.
