Hello all,
I am considering buying CrazyTalk 5 for a video project I am working on. I need to animate the face/lips of a live greyhound so it will appear to be speaking English. Hoping to hear from someone with experience on this type of animation. Basically wondering if CrazyTalk is the right tool for this project also looking for pointers to tutorials that might help.

Hi Rusty,

Crazytalk is the perfect tool for this job. With the new Crazytalk 5 face profiles you can animate any face shape you can think of.

To do this you will need a good quality photo of the greyhound to bring into Crazytalk. It's then just a matter of adding some positioning points and your greyhound will be fully animated and ready for the audio track and effects to be added.

Take a look at the video below which gives a perfect example of how dogs can talk in Crazytalk.

Thanks for the quick reply and the video. Maybe you can answer another question. Does CrazyTalk recognize an alpha channel and will it output an alpha channel. I envision shooting the greyhound on tape in front of a greenscreen, then removing the dog and shooting some background footage. Then in post I'll export one frame from Premiere to animate, output it at full TV resolution after applying CT magic and composite it over the live moving background. Am I dreaming or will the program do that.

Hi Rusty,

Crazytalk does indeed recognize alpha channels. If you import a 32bit BMP or a TGA or PNG with alpha channel information included then this will automatically be applied as a background mask in CT5. There are many ways in which you can configure the background settings and apply your own background images within Crazytalk.

From the description of your workflow, Crazytalk will certainly meet your needs.
