Client Commission Question

I have been getting commission request work from a few clients to create avatars in the vrm format so they can use them for vtubing & facial & body mocap tracking using a device camera, VR HMDs & body trackers, similar to how Vroid avatar models are used in metaverse games & apps as a user representation & identity.

The VRM format allows for portable avatar interoperability, not embedded in any specific game/app, but embedded within a stand alone portable file format including all packed accessory assets.

I can even embed license restrictions such as "redistribution prohibited", "modifications not allowed" within the vrm format itself & links to further RL license rights & restrictions if necessary to clarify client usage responsibilities.

Would this be considered "Assigned Finished Works"?

Is this use case covered by extended license?

Also, what license structure would be appropriate for VRchat avatar commissions?

Hi Sifr

Apologies for the late reply. Please always feel free to send a personal message if you seek an urgent reply.

The Extended license will be fine for the usage you have planned. You only require an Extended License for CC Components which are shown below. All other content can be used with just the Standard License.

*CC Components include ccAvatars, ccProjects, ccSliders, ccHair, ccCloth, ccShoes and ccGloves.
