I'm trying to find if there is a way to generate an opacity map from a hidden mesh on CC/iClone? CC/iClone generates an opacity map for eyelashes, for example, but not for hidden meshes? Not such a problem in iClone, but I am trying to export iClone via FBX to Cinema 4D, and I'd like to have an opacity map for the meshes I have hidden in iClone without having to go through the trouble of doing it again in C4D. Any thoghts?

Does unhiding it work? Temporarily set visible to true in IClone and export.

Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately, I can't find the function you are referring to. Also, maybe I should specify that I have the left hand and right foot of the character Hidden (so, part of a mesh, not the entire object), and want them to remain so when exported. I assume this will require an opacity map?

To do this, you should use one of the hide mesh tools here: https://manual.reallusion.com/Character-Creator-4/Content/ENU/4.0/08_Cloth/Hiding_Inner_Meshes.htm
Then check the "Delete Hidden Faces" box in the FBX export panel.

If you use an opacity map to the make the mesh transparent, then it will not be deleted on export.

@Rampa: that did the trick. Thanks so much! So many checkboxes, you can't know them all--at least I can't! ;-)
