With the problems with Adobe, is Reallusion going to switch over to a better software. One that does not cost so much each month. In CTA 5 your locked into Adobe Illustrator to edit vector to vector. Affinity Designer or Inkscape would be and excellent replacement if you could do vector to vector also.
Thanks

I believe the “problems” ,the OP is referencing, are Adobe’s recent legal troubles with the U.S. justice Dept over the difficulties user were having trying to cancel their subscriptions as well as a recent( Aborted) attempt to force a new TOS  where users agreed to let Adobe use their cloud project files for AI training or something .

And now a major competitor ,Affinity ,is exploiting the presumed ill will against Adobe by offering a ”Free” six month trial of their software suite.

I personally continue to run old seats of Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator CS6 which are the LAST standalone versions before Adobe became cloud/sub based.
I have only recently began looking into making my own
Characters for CTA 4 and was under the impression that you could already use Affinity Designer, for this task, but without all of the automation of the layer recognition you get with creating the character art in Adobe photoshop.

I Don’t personally care about “Inkscape" because that program is rubbish IMHO.

I see no business reason for Reallusion to abandon Adobe over what will likely just be a fine from the Justice Dept (if anything at all)
Adobe reported $14 Billion in revenue last year from sub fees.
Don't believe all of the recreational internet outrage & Hype!!
Adobe is not in any danger of going away anytime soon. :Wow:

Did any of them make $14 Billion last year?

I think AutoDidact still loves poser.

I think “Love” is a bit strong of a word
But if you want Ragdoll physics with easy FBX export
to Daz/Iclone/Blender/Maya the Old Poser 12 ($120) with its FREE  third party , open source python Ragdoll plugin is still a good value.

I have more then recouped my “investment” with Commercial animation products sold in the Daz market

But beyond that Poser is necroware ,on full life support from sales of DAZ content in the Poser marketplace at the Renderosity “graveyard”.

My point here is the yeah Adobe is “hated” just as much Autodesk is “hated” But angry online screeds on twitterX means nothing if a company is profitable year after year and  its products remain deeply embedded in professional studio pipelines.

I was a Professional Graphic Designer for print for 19 years before migrating to 3D/CG.
If you had no knowledge of the Adobe suite your job prospects in the field of graphic Design were effectively Zero.

This was true when I left the field in 2007 and remains true today particularly as they have fully embraced and incorporated generative AI.

The same is true for Autodesk Maya if you plan to work as a 3D Character animator for a game or Film  animation studio.

lastly, many of the Adobe haters seem to ignore all of the FREE tools in the Adobe express online tool that are actually competitive with ALL of the so called Adobe “alternatives”.
This even includes a lite version of their 2D animation program that competes with Reallusion  Cartoon
animator.

I made this entire video ,in mere minutes, for Zero Dollars with ChatGPT for the voice& Script
Leonardo AI (free tier) for the backdrop image
and Adobe Express online for the animated Character.
