IC 8.4 I cannot drag and drop an image from explorer into preview window. Haven't used IC for a while but in the past have used ctrl and right mouse to bring in image which gave me options menu etc. Also right mouse to bring a background into scene. Can anyone help please.
Cheers

Use Left mouse click to drag the image.

Right-click and drag should still work, I've used the other day.

lol, I have lost the sense of right/left again. It's sure right and yes it's still working. :hehe: The only time it's not going to work, if you opened a zip file in explorer and try to drag an image from it to preview window (you have to unzip it first).

Many thanks for your replies. I have checked and I am using the suggested method (Right Click Drag) but still no joy. I'm now thinking it is an incorrect setting somewhere.? Graphics? Anyway, my next step is to uninstall IC and reinstall to see if that works.

I uninstalled and reinstalled IC8.4 but still cannot drag and drop from explorer. Drag and drop still works correctly within program and I can textures, jpg etc left and right click which gives the options of background plane. etc. I shall continue to research the problem.

I finally solved the problem of not being able to drag and drop an item (eg, jpg etc) into the preview window. To resolve I had to edit the registry as follows: Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Policies > System. On the right pane find the EnableLUA. Right-click on it and select Modify . Set the DWORD value data to 0, and then click OK.
The DWORD was set to 1 and after changing to 0, this had the desired effect. I have no idea why this setting had changed?
