iClone 7 forums are dead, so I figure I'll post my questions here.
Ok, so my method for creating clothing for characters is simply to copy the base mesh, break the copy down into upper, lower, and footwear cloth meshes, and work from there (sculpting, cutting, texturing, etc). When I bring these clothes into iClone, and then applying them in Character Creator 3, sometimes I end up with (even after I slightly enlarge the clothes over the avatar) poke-through of the body through the clothes, even after conforming them to the avatar. Yes, I've seen the tutorials on how to eliminate such things (sculpt/edit mesh/hide body parts, etc), but what I would like to know is, speaking in preventative measures first: Which is better? Matching topology between the clothes and the avatar? More topology on the clothes? Less topology on the clothes?
Another issue I run into is that when I've applied the clothes meshes to the avatar in CC3, when I pose the character with their arms upraised, there appears to be tears in the clothes at the armpits, or even just at the shoulder points. You would think that if you're working with matching topology, this would not be an issue. Should I increase the topology on the clothes around those areas?
Anyhoo...if anyone could provide any advice in these areas, I'd greatly appreciate it.
