Adding shoes from the content panel almost always distorts the shoe model and tries to conform it to the foot.  So the sneaker soles shape gets all jacked up.  1. why? 2. how do you fix this?  I would like the shoe to have a shape of a shoe and looked everywhere to put the object to it's original shape.  Please help.

Thank you for bringing this up. I am having the same issue. Maybe someone has figured out a workaround?

Topic is highly subjective. Provide screenshots of what you consider a "good" and a "bad" fit for the same shoes.

Easiest is NOT to try to conform the shoes but rather adjust the foot mesh that is sticking out by hiding the mesh or sculpting it so that it fit inside the shoe. May not work for open toe shoes though.

I agree, often conforming the shoes will lead to distortion...depending on the shoe type. Simply adjusting the mesh (only) would usually fix my issue with the shoe(s) .
