I am new to all of this.....but.....
Am I able to draw/create my characters in blender....then use them in Cartoon Animator?
If the answer is yes.....Do I RIG the Character in Blender, or would that be done in Cartoon Animator?

I'm a bit confused because Blender is a 3D program and Cartoon Animator is 2D. I'm not using CA, but starting from scratch you would use some sort of graphics program., such as Photoshop or Illustrator. The rigging you would do in CA.

This section of the manual will explain more: https://manual.reallusion.com/Cartoon-Animator/Content/Resources/5.1/02-Project/Creating-Editing-Media.htm

I like the 3d style drawings that I can produce in Blender (very new to Blender).  I only need to animate in 2d, although I'm not against using a 3d animation software, which I assume would be iClone8.
I guess I just wanted to know if it were possible to create a character in Blender and use that Character in Cartoon Animator.

You can render images from any 3D software including Blender and then use those 2D images to create a character in Cartoon Animator 5. You will need to render the images in the correct poses which would be an A-Pose, 45 degree angle and full side profile. Optionally you might want to render a back view in A-Pose if you might need that in CTA5 as well.

If you are not sure of the type of poses you need, just take one of the G3 characters that come with CTA5 into Composer mode to see an example.

This was the answer I was hoping to see. I am very green when it comes to drawing and animation (and weirdly enough….I find it so much easier to create characters in Blender than Adobe Illustrator). I have used Adobe Character Animator before, but I believe CTA to be a major upgrade.

That being said, is it much more difficult to animate in iClone than CTA? (I assume that iClone is the 3d animation platform.)

Sorry for the newbie questions, I just want to get a basic understanding before dropping the cash to purchase the software.
