I updated Cartoon Animator 5 recently and it seems like it removed the 3D Motion Key Editor from the side. It use to be located above the Import 3D motion button on the side before this last update. Now it is gone. I really need it for my G2 characters. Where can I find it now? Thanks.

Hi… Do you have a G2 character loaded and selected in the viewport? This is required for the 3D Motion Key Editor option to appear.

Unfortunately it still doesn’t work. But thank you for the response. I think I’m just going to use Cartoon Animator 4 for g2 characters now. Thanks again!

What Version of CTA5 are you using ?
You definately can use the 3D motion key Editor with G2 Characters with CTA5 (just tested with 5.12)

The most recent update for Cartoon Animator 5 (version 5.2). The one with the motion paths etc. Its previous version (5.12) worked fine with g2 and definitely still had the 3D motion key editor in view. Now the 3D motion key editor is completely gone with the new updated version of 5.2. I don’t know if it’s a glitch or what, but at least I have Cartoon Animator 4 installed too so that has gotten me through the dilemma. Really is a bummer but I still really enjoy the new update for Cartoon Animator 5.

Please report this to the feedback tracker. You may also ask support desk for a solution. They usually come up with something helpful.

Apologies for the confusion. In Cartoon Animator 5.2 you select the 3D Motion Key Editor under Animation on the Menu Bar (see below).

Wow you found it! Now I won’t have to keep going back and fourth through 2 programs. Thank you so much!

Hello, ive been trying to get the G2 motions over to CTA5.21. When clicking on a G2 Char and opening the action menu and selecting an action i get the error message , see photo. "Failes to load animation data". I guess CTA doesnt know where they are.
I placed the ctAction files from CTA4 in the action menu folder and motions from the Motions/G2 folder into Animation/2D Motions by chance but the error remains. Using a single motiion from that folder works fine though.
Does anyone know where possibly to place the G2 animations in order to make the action menu working properly ?

I recommend Reallusion stop messing with the UI. Productivity drops in the software. G2 characters are the best in the software in my opinion.

The problem is the Action Menu won't look in the Custom folder for the motion clips. It will be looking in the Template folder.
To resolve the problem you can clear the Action Menu and then reapply the motions this time selecting them from the Custom folder. Alternatively, if you don't plan to use the character very much, you can just apply the motions as you you want to use them directly from Content Manager and not use the Action Menu.
