I’m having a hard time animating edit motion layer around the reach target constraints. Seems after I hit release the hand is still attached. as I can’t move it in the edit motion layer tool. I have to go like 10 frames passed the release key to be able to animate the finishing animations. I noticed the key under reach in the timeline and the green key bar ,but moving that changes the release point to not be Ideal

Another video showing my work flow, after I reach target I want to bake animation for final animations, but the reach position gets all screwed up after baking. Is there a way around this

I looked at both videos, but have not seen a single instance where you worked with timeline.
You just breeze through trying to make it work without looking at Reach section of the timeline.
So you may not move the hand right after the Release because it is still "tailing" back to the original pose and still locked until the reach blend tale ends (you may adjust it though).
But that is the most hated part where hand would assume the original pose at the end of blend (after Release) and you have to start moving/tweaking pose right AFTER it ends or CLOSE to the end where reach influence is minimal.
There is an alternative to Release, where you do not use it at all. It works a lot better but requires a little effort.
You simply bake the animation for the character each time you need to Release.
After baking, you sample motion clip for a specific parts like LArm and LFingers (uncheck optimized) and then simply delete ALL sampled keyframes past the point of the release to the end of the clip.
So the hand becomes frozen at the "Release" point and no longer moves while gun continue moving.
And the advantage, it would not try to jump back and you may start animating it further right away, use reach again and then bake again at the next "release" point and so on and so forth.

Thanks, been messing with it and got it down. I’ve tried the bake after seems the reach restraints are still active. But you can just delete the ones you don’t want from the sampler option. In the video my time line was on another monitor, sorry

Constrains would go away if you select the character before hitting a menu option to bake them.
