Hello everyone,

I came across a limitation in the skeleton of my character and I would like to add just one extra bone to this skeleton. I have a character that uses melee weapon and instead of animating the weapon separately, currently I use a constraint to the wrist of my character's skeleton, so I just animate the wrist.

That has a limitation tho, becuase I would like to make some animation, where the melee weapon is thrown in the air, or just moved from hand to hand. I want to keep using the costraints instead of animating the weapon separately, so I thought of extedning my character skeleton with one extra bone (clone of the wrist bone), which I can animate additionally with the wrist.

When checking online the first that comes up is this video on YT (https://youtu.be/KnMASxmeiWQ). It has one issue that I want to avoid and that is creating new character from scratch, assigning bones etc. (https://youtu.be/KnMASxmeiWQ?t=121). What I would like to do is just duplicate that wrist bone, that my character in CC already has, then in the hierarchy make this duplicate as a child of the wrist bone, all without re-making the character while importing, or using external software at all.

Before I had an idea of using a bone that is called "ik_hand_gun" that this skeleton has, but I can't use this bone in iClone (there is no option to constraint the weapon to this very bone, look at screen attached). iClone sadly creates this bone only after the export and ignores it while importing/working on character.

If you have any idea what might help in this case, please let me know :D. As the last option I can try and animate the weapon separately, but I find this tedious, thus using the constraint feels easier to work with for me.
