Hi,
I'm trying to get the best characters I can imported into Unity - this is what I've learnt -
I'd love to know if I can import CC skin material and Eyes into a Daz character, then I could have the best of both worlds.
Daz pro's 1. Daz has body morphs 2. Material export ok'ish. 3. Gen 8 good skeleton Daz neg 1. Daz 9 and 8.1 bad skels. Materials not as good as Character Creator 2. Eye need more work
Character Creator 4 pro's 1. Great skels, 2. Great materials, Skin looks nicer in light 3. Soft cloth dynamics 4. Great eyes Neg 1. NO BODY MORPHS!
Can't combine them together (yet) If know how let me know in the comments! :(.

How do you mean no body morphs for CC4? Could you clarify? Using morphs to change a character is the whole point of CC.

In the video he linked it shows the user changing the characters body shape with Daz morph sliders inside Unity

@AutoDidact: Thanks for explaining.

Yep That's correct. If CC allowed exporting morphs to Unity like daz does it'd be hard to beat.
I was surprised it's not supported, as it has nearly everything else.

But what morphs are we referring here to? I am curious if Unity could handle DAZ bones/mesh driven morphs (which most of the transformations are based upon)?

Not sure what exact body morphs are supported by the Daz unity bridge but see for yourself

Morphs are non bone changes - ie a shape to another shape. ie pregnant morph would make your char look pregnant, Bodybuilder morph makes your character more of a body builder. Face morphs - face can be 50% John, 25% Paul and 25% greg - too create a unique character.
Cc export facial morphs for happy, sad, expressions etc and visene morphs for lip syncing. There are no morphs to create a new character. Also, CC exports a lot of (prob useless) morphs/ blendshapes, bloating characters - which not something you generally want in a game character, but honestly I don't think they have a big impact on performance - more of a memory issue.
So why is body morphs such a big deal ? Because exporting a character with body morphs mean I only need to export once and can now create hundreds of new characters at runtime and all characters created can be unique. Every enemy is different - A character could have babies and the baby could have 50% of both parents. Or in my rpg, my character starts off fat and has to exercise to get fit.
You can see the big list of morphs here - here's an eye lid closing morph. I was a bit scared to try the V_open and V_explode blendshapes - they change her mouth.

I wanted to get an answer first hand from OP, instead of scrolling through video looking for hints. But I think I got it. As soon as Underbelly morph is applied, the joints has crashed.

Which I think means there is no skeleton morphing is transferred through the bridge. So unless I miss something else, there is a little value for most of the transform morphs being relayed from DAZ.
Now regarding Morphs from CC. The good new is, that it's possible to export certain selective morphs (those not involved with bones scaling) out of it. The bad news is, that you need iClone for that and individually make desired morphs with Morphs Creator.
I wish Morphs Creator was available as internal function of CC though for quickly building them up for the export.
===== Yes, it took me longer to write the reply because I started to reply and then stuck with scrolling the video :)
But generally yes, basic body morphs are still possible to export but unfortunately for now only with Morphs Creator.
